With ease of use as top-of-mind
The idea with Laddkoll is to make owning an electric car as easy as a petrol car. I put a lot of focus on quickly seeing the outlet that fits your car and the current off the charger.
Clean & Easy Homescreen
I aimed to design a home screen for the app that is simple and user-friendly. Users can quickly find the nearest outlet and check the current status of the charger. By focusing on the map and placing the menu as a floating element on top, the design achieves a balanced look.

iOS & Android
We decided to develop the app using React Native for several compelling reasons. Primarily, it allows us to efficiently launch both Android and iOS versions, enabling us to rapidly iterate and enhance user experience. I made a design to fit both platforms, with minimal adjustments in the code to get that native feel.

Iterations over the years
The app was successfully launched and gradually gained a few thousand users. In 2015, less than one percent of the cars on Swedish roads were electric. In 2024, Laddkoll was acquired by Voltiva, which helped continue its vision of making it easier to own and charge an electric car.
